Ronnie Carroll was the stage name of Northern Irish singer Ronald Cleghorn who was popular during the 1950s and 1960s, scoring several hit singles.
He first represented the United Kingdom in the Eurovision Song Contest 1962 in Luxembourg City with the song "Ring-A-Ding Girl", which finished in joint 4th place with 10 points with the entry from Yugoslavia.
He returned the following year in London to represent the nation with the song "Say Wonderful Things", again finishing in 4th place with 28 points. This appearance made him the only artist to represent the nation two years in a row.
Aside from some work in films and theater, he made an unsuccessful run in the 2015 general election in the United Kingdom.
He died on 13 April 2015 at the age of 80.
