Måns Zelmerlöw is a Swedish singer who came to fame after finishing in 5th place on the fifth season of the Swedish syndication of the Idol franchise. Following this he signed a deal with Warner Music Sweden and released his debut album. To date he has released seven studio albums, including two festive albums.
Having previously attempted to represent his home country in Melodifestivalen in 2007 and 2009, finishing in 3rd and 4th place respectively, he finally won the chance in 2015 with the song "Heroes", which, as of 2017, remains the highest-scoring winning entry in Melodifestivalen history.
It went into the Contest as the hot favourite and won the second semifinal. After a closely fought battle between Russia and Italy, it went on to win the final with 365 points, making it the second-highest scoring Swedish entry and winner behind Loreen's 2012 winning entry "Euphoria".
He co-hosted the 2016 Contest in Stockholm with comedienne Petra Mede who hosted the 2013 Contest. He provided the Swedish commentary during the 2017 Contest and also made a cameo appearance in a sketch with the three male presenters.
