Liam Reilly was an Irish singer-songwriter who started his career in 1978 as a member of the rock band Bagatelle before going solo. Throughout his four decade long career he released several studio albums and singles.
He is best known for representing his home country in the Eurovision Song Contest 1990 in Zagreb with the song "Somewhere in Europe", which finished as joint runner up with 132 points alongside the entry by Joƫlle Ursull of France.
He returned to the Contest the following year in Rome as the writer of the country's entry "Could It Be That I'm in Love" by Kim Jackson, which finished in joint 10th place alongside the entry by Samantha Janus of the United Kingdom.
He died suddenly on New Year's Day 2021 at the age of 65, just a few weeks short of his birthday.
