Susana Alimivna Jamaladinova, better known by her stage name Jamala, is a Ukrainian singer, actress and songwriter who began her career in 2010 with the release of her debut single. To date she has released four studio albums.
She was selected to represent her home country at the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 in Stockholm with the song "1944", which successfully qualified from the second semi final. It went on to win the contest with 534 points, the highest score at that time for any winning entry under the new voting system which would be overtaken a year later.
