The Eurovision Song Contest 2012 was the 56th annual Eurovision Song Contest, held in Baku, Azerbaijan, following Eli & Nikki giving the country its first-ever win the previous year with the song "Running Scared".
No country withdrew while Montenegro returned after a three-year gap. Both Armenia and Poland withdrew from competing - the former for the first time and the latter for the first time since the Eurovision Song Contest 2000 in Stockholm.
It was won by singer Loreen from Sweden with the song "Euphoria", giving the country its fifth win, placing it equal on wins with United Kingdom, Luxembourg and France.
