The Eurovision Song Contest 2006 was held in Athens, Greece due to Helena Paparizou winning in Kyiv with 'my number one'. 37 countries participated and 24 countries got through to the final. Finland (for the first time ever) won with Lordi 'Hard Rock Hallelujah'. The UK's act was Daz Sampson with 'Teenage Life'
