The Eurovision Song Contest 2002 was the 47th edition of the annual Eurovision Song Contest, which took place in Tallinn, Estonia on 25 May 2002, following Tanel Padar and Dave Benton with 2XL giving the country its first win the previous year with the song "Everybody".
No country made its debut while it saw the return of Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Finland, F.Y.R Macedonia, Romania and Switzerland. Iceland, Ireland, The Netherlands, Norway, Poland and Portugal were all relegated due to their poor results the previous year.
Latvia won the Contest for the first time, thanks to its representative Marie N and her song "I Wanna", becoming the second Baltic country to do so.
