The Eurovision Song Contest 1995 was the 40th annual Eurovision Song Contest, held on 13 May 1995 in Dublin, Ireland following the country's win on home soil the previous year thanks to the song "Rock 'n' Roll Kids" performed by Paul Harrington & Charlie McGettigan.
This was the fifth time that the capital city had hosted the Contest as well as it being the third consecutive year that the country played host - a record that remains unbroken as of 2023.
No country made its debut while Belgium, Denmark, Israel, Slovenia and Turkey all returned. Estonia, Finland, Lithuania, The Netherlands, Romania, Slovenia and Switzerland all withdrew.
The Contest was won by Norway who was represented by the Norwegian-Irish duo Secret Garden performing the largely-instrumental song "Nocturne". The victory also denied the host country the chance to host the Contest for the fourth consecutive year as it finished outside the Top 10 for the first time in six years.
It would be the last time that the top 3 songs were performed in a language other than English until 2021.
