The Eurovision Song Contest 1993 was the 38th annual Eurovision Song Contest, held on 15 May 1993 in Millstreet, Co. Cork, Ireland following Linda Martin's win the previous year in Malmö with the Johnny Logan-penned song "Why Me?, which gave the country its fourth win. This is the only time that the Contest was not held in the capital city Dublin after an Irish win. With only a population of 1,500, Millstreet is the smallest town or city to host the contest.
No country returned while the former Yugoslav countries of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Slovenia all made their debut after a special pre-qualifying round was held the previous month. Because of this, Yugoslavia withdrew from competing due to its dissolution the previous year.
For the fifth time and second year in a row Ireland won the Contest, thanks to the song "In Your Eyes" performed by Niamh Kavanagh. This equalled the number of wins by France and Luxembourg as well as being the fourth time the host country had won two years in a row - Spain in 1968 and 1969, Luxembourg in 1972 and 1973 and Israel in 1978 and 1979.
