The Eurovision Song Contest 1983 was the 28th edition of the annual Eurovision Song Contest. It was held on 23 April 1983 in Munich, West Germany following Nicole giving the country its first-ever win the previous year with the song "Ein bißchen Frieden".
No country made its debut while France, Greece and Italy returned. Ireland withdrew from competing due to strike action by workers of national broadcaster RTÉ.
The Contest was won for the fifth time by Luxembourg with the song "Si la vie est cadeau" by Corinne Hermès.
