The Eurovision Song Contest 1972 was the 17th annual Eurovision Song Contest held on 25 March 1972 in Edinburgh, Scotland, United Kingdom.
Although Monaco was crowned the winner at the previous Contest, it was unable to meet the criteria required to host it so the BBC stepped in to host it, which was their fourth time doing so. As of 2023, this is the only time that the United Kingdom has hosted it outside of England.
Eighteen countries participated. No country made its debut and no country made its return. As well as these, no country had received nul points by the end of voting.
It was won by Greek singer Vicky Leandros, representing Luxembourg with the song "Après toi". This was the country's third win.
