Cyprus has participated in the Contest 38 times since its debut at the 1981 Contest in Dublin where it finished in 6th place with the group Island.
Since 2006, the country has failed to qualify from the semi final seven times and since its return in 2015, they have qualified every year with exception of 2022 and at the 2018 Contest in Lisbon, they scored their best-ever result when representative Eleni Foureira finished as runner up to Netta of Israel.
It made its debut at the inauguaral Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Copenhagen, finishing in 14th place. It has appeared a further eight times with its best result coming at both the 2004 Contest and again two years later, finishing in 8th place both times. Its worst result to came at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2017 when it finished in last place.
